Grouper Opening April 1
Well it's almost time !!!!! On April 1 both State and Federal waters will open for the 2009 Grouper season
The last few trips we've made the grouper bite has been strong,we've landed and released a good
limit of nice 10-25lb fish even as we've tried to avoid catching them hoping not to injure the ones we can catch next week. Last week we found most of the bigger fish from 10-20 miles out with some nice keeper fish coming as close a 6 miles. This year the State has set the limit at 2 Gags,2 Reds one more of the other species for a aggregate bag limit of 5 per person. In federal water as of today the limits are 2 Gags,1 Red along with 2 of the other species,hopefully the Feds will increase their limits to 2 Reds also later this year.
